I honestly didn’t intend to start shooting bands and live performances, it just sort of happened after a friend asked me to photograph a special musical guest at her coffehouse back in 1994. One band turned into two bands, and then three and four and before I knew it, I was shooting bands four times a week. Admittedly, I did get to see some great bands back in the day before they became the big names that they are today. Back in the 90’s it was easier to shoot a band as I would usually be the only photographer in the club. That was in the “old film days” before digital. These days, one has to dance around 5-6 other photographers at any given live show so I tend not to even bother at this point. Plus I’m old now and can’t stay up late like I used to.
